Organic baskets Citizen Membership and Contribution

The citizen contribution when subscribing sometimes raises questions, so we've decided to explain everything! This contribution and your citizen member status also benefit you! It allows you to be an integral part of our movement and the Network!

The citizen contributions collected at the time of subscription sometimes raise questions, so we've decided to explain everything! This membership fee and your status as a citizen-member benefit you too — by making you a full part of our movement and the Network!

The Family Farmers Network (RFF) is a non-profit organization that provides support and guidance to small organic farms built around the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) model.

CSA is a type of farming in which a citizen establishes a partnership with a family farmer and commits to purchasing their share of the harvest in advance for a set period. This partnership gives farmers the assurance of early-season income and the ability to plan their production and harvests ahead of time. CSA is an innovative form of social solidarity.

Citizen member contributions are part of this movement by helping to build a support system around small market farms. Through their contribution to the RFF, subscribers — the community — SUPPORT the Network, which in turn SUPPORTS its farmers!

Here is what your citizen contribution concretely contribute to:

  • A specialized platform for managing subscriptions.
  • Ongoing training through farm visits, self-building workshops, online training sessions, and the market gardening wiki.
  • The coordination of certain marketing channels that benefit farmers (Bio Locaux des Cantons).
  • Promoting our mission and healthy eating in schools through the Écoles Enracinées (Rooted Schools) project.
  • Organizing social events to combat isolation and strengthen solidarity among producers (Rendez-vous Automnal, Expo-champ, etc.).
  • Help increasing the visibility of our farms among customers and institutions.
  • Representation before government bodies.
  • The development of projects with other organizations to strengthen the place of farms and organic agriculture in Québec.

As a citizen member, you will have the opportunity to participate in the Network's annual general meetings and will periodically receive newsletters designed especially for you, including invitations to various events we organize.

By subscribing, you support your farm — and the Network that supports it!
