For the spring campaign, collaborate with a Network farm to fund your school project by offering organic vegetable plants to students’ parents and collaborators of your institution!
Registration: January to late February
Basket sales campaign: Last 3 weeks of March
Delivery of plants to your institution: Mid-May to early June
A turnkey program
Our program is simple to implement and supports local organic agriculture!
Vegetable plants are sold in predefined combos, based on a small, medium and large structure. In this way, buyers can choose the combo that best suits their planting space! (see our drawing!)
Balcony Combo – 5 plants – $30
Small Garden Combo – 10 plants – $60
Large Garden Combo – 15 plants – $90
Delivering vegetable plants in your setting is a unique opportunity for education and awareness about healthy, local and sustainable food among youth, their families and your institution’s staff! Decorate the space, play music, prepare a photo booth and invite youth to take part in the distribution!
Good to know: 25% of revenue from plant sales goes to your institution
STEPS
- You register your institution using this form (following approval from your institution’s administration)
- We find a Network farm that can produce and deliver your vegetable plants
- You determine the project to be funded and create the campaign
- the institution’s administration creates an account on the Fabrique à Projets fundraising platform (powered by Desjardins and designed specifically for school fundraising campaigns) – first year of participation only*
- the project leader creates the online fundraising page
- You promote the campaign to students’ parents and other school collaborators
- You send the order to the farm (late March)
- The big day has arrived and you carry out the distribution at your institution with the help of your family farmer!
* Is this your first Rooted Schools campaign?
